Dans mon escalier, au cinquième étage, vivent Madame L. et son mari. Madame L. est une femme d’une soixantaine d’années, toujours tirée à quatre épingles : coiffure parfaite, maquillage impeccable, tenue vestimentaire élégante. Madame L. est également très aimable et toujours souriante. Elle se renseigne toujours sur ma petite fille, ses progrès, si elle mange bien, si je fais bien attention à ne pas lui donner trop de sucreries, etc.
Rien de mystérieux jusque-là, me direz-vous. Mais, Madame L. est toujours en route pour la gare, un petit cartable noir à la main, lorsque je la croise. Je suis certaine qu’elle se rend à Paris.
Sans m’en rendre compte, j’ai commencé à me demander ce qu’elle pouvait bien faire à Paris et, aujourd’hui, j’ai su.
Nous nous sommes croisées à la cave, elle avait son petit cartable ouvert d’où sont tombés des papiers qu’elle a vite ramassés.
- Cela devait bien arrivé, puisque mon cartable est ouvert! C’est mon cartable d’école, a-t-elle ajouté fièrement.
- Vous allez à l’école? lui ai-je demandé.
- Oui, à la Sorbonne, j’y vais chaque semaine, c’est passionnant.
- Oh, je veux bien vous croire.
- Allez, je vous laisse!
Et voilà, un petit mystère résolu.
