Etant seule pour quelques jours, je ne suis pas tenue de cuisiner. Et d’ailleurs, je n’en ai pas très envie. Je fais le minimum et ça doit aller vite, car j’ai peu de temps devant moi. Ce matin, je suis sortie pour me ravitailler. Qu’allais-je donc pouvoir manger ce midi ? Oh, rien que d’y réfléchir m’a semblé une perte de temps. Je suis à fond dans ma liberté, comme vous pouvez vous en rendre compte. Donc, quoi de plus rapide à préparer qu’un sandwich ? Ça, c’est une idée qui m’a bien plu. Ce midi, sandwich au jambon et ce soir sandwich au fromage. Et quelques haricots verts en salade, une pomme et une orange pour rester dans le régime crétois. Rien, on ne pourra rien me reprocher ! Je me suis procuré un morceau de Beaufort chez le fromager et quelques tranches du délicieux jambon cuit de chez mon boucher. Pour la baguette, je suis allée chez le nouveau boulanger dont je vous ai parlé récemment, celui que Jacques m’a fait connaître. Elle a bon goût et elle est bien craquante. Ah, je riais intérieurement, en m’imaginant en train de croquer dans mon sandwich. Ce midi devant la télé et ce soir devant mon ordinateur. Quel laisser-aller ! Mais quel plaisir en perspective ! Cela fait des mois que je n’ai pas mangé de sandwich !! Est-ce que Mr Emerson de A room with a view dirait de moi « Poor girl » ?
