Ce matin, les filles et moi avons croisé dans la rue un petit garçon que nous avions vu il y a dix jours au concert de piano. Les filles ne l’ont pas reconnu, mais moi si. Et pour une raison particulière. La grande fille de Caroline, Mathilde, suit des cours de piano depuis deux ans. Chaque année, son école de piano donne un concert où chaque élève joue un ou deux morceaux. Mathilde nous a invités. Micaela, Felicia et moi y sommes allées, très heureuses à l’idée de la voir jouer. C’était impressionnant de voir tous ces enfants jouer sur le grand piano à queue, se concentrer, garder confiance en eux avec le soutien de leur professeur parfois assis à côté d’eux. Mathilde a très bien joué son morceau de Van Pasterwithz. Nous l’avons applaudie bien fort. D’autres élèves ont suivi. Le niveau allait crescendo. Puis est arrivé ce jeune garçon de onze ou douze ans qui s’est installé et qui nous a joué un morceau de Debussy. Et là, quelque chose s’est passé. Ce jeune homme n’a pas exécuté un morceau, il nous l’a fait vivre. Alors que ses doigts courraient sur les touches, il souriait semblant prendre un vrai plaisir à jouer et à embarquer son public avec lui. Caroline avait ressenti la même chose. J’aurais bien aimé le féliciter. Peut-être l’année prochaine? En tout cas, bravo à Mathilde!
